Bendavid leaf Our Approach

Root-Cause Care for Chronic Illness

Naturopathic doctor reviewing lab results with a chronic illness patient at Bendavid Clinic in Burlington, Vermont

Complex conditions deserve real time and a full evaluation. We review your complete history, order the testing that’s actually indicated, and work through the symptoms that haven’t added up elsewhere — so we can look for what’s driving them instead of managing them one at a time. Bendavid Clinic sees adults from across Chittenden County and greater Vermont, and many of our complex-condition patients also see us for primary care.

Root-Cause Focused

We look for the underlying driver of your symptoms — infection, exposure, or immune dysfunction — instead of treating each symptom separately.

Coordinated With Your Specialists

We work alongside your rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, or primary care provider rather than in isolation.

Vermont Rooted

Deeply connected to our local community, serving adults across the Burlington region.

Bendavid leaf What Our Patients Say

Dr. Jackie’s greatest strengths as a primary care provider lie in her natural abilities to listen, to empathize without judgement or condescension, and to enthusiastically and collaboratively design an action plan with her patients. While none of these qualities should make Dr. Jackie so unique as a care provider, it’s the unfortunate reality that many of us, especially female-identifying folks, live in. In just two visits, she was able to diagnose and create an accessible, approachable treatment plan for a number of deficiencies that other providers failed to notice. The experience has been not only validating, but healing both literally and figuratively. Burlington is BEYOND lucky to call her one of our own.

— P.T.

At the first appointment I instantly felt the warmth her office and whole self brings, it’s the most comfortable space and she offers the most inviting presence to be able to open up to and receive the kind of advice that is not only extremely helpful, but shows that she truly cares about her patients. I am so grateful I have found Dr. Jackie. Thank you so much for your inviting presence and everything you have taught me thus far!

— G.T.

I’ve had chronic health issues for years and Dr. Jackie is everything. Never felt so heard and seen and cared for by a primary care physician as much as I do with her! Thank you for truly caring about what you do and making the world a better place.

— H.P.

Call Us: 802-881-0424
Do you treat Lyme disease and tick-borne illness?
Yes. Bendavid Clinic evaluates and treats Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections at our Burlington, Vermont office, including chronic and persistent cases that haven’t fully resolved after previous treatment. Tick-borne illness is one of the conditions we see most often in Vermont patients.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat chronic fatigue and unexplained symptoms, autoimmune conditions, Lyme and tick-borne illness, mold and environmental illness, complex digestive conditions, and multi-system conditions that involve several specialists at once.
What is a naturopathic doctor, and how is this different from my regular doctor?
A naturopathic doctor (ND) is a licensed provider trained in both conventional diagnosis and integrative treatment. All Bendavid Clinic providers are naturopathic doctors licensed in Vermont. The practical difference for complex conditions is time — our visits are long enough to work through a complicated history rather than a single complaint.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
No — you don’t need a referral, and Bendavid Clinic is currently accepting new patients. You can schedule online or call our Burlington office at 802-881-0424. We also welcome referrals from other providers.
What happens at the first visit for a complex condition?
Your first visit is a full intake. We go through your complete history, review any previous testing you’ve had, and work through your current symptoms, then decide together which labs or evaluations are actually worth running. You leave with a plan, not just a follow-up date.
Do you treat chronic fatigue and post-viral symptoms?
Yes. We evaluate persistent fatigue, brain fog, and post-viral symptoms, looking for underlying drivers such as ongoing infection, immune dysfunction, or nutrient depletion rather than treating fatigue as a standalone complaint. Some patients also use IV nutrient therapy as part of that plan.
Can you work alongside my current specialists?
Yes. Most patients with complex conditions are already seeing a rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, or neurologist, and our care is designed to work alongside theirs, not replace it.
Will insurance cover this care?
Coverage varies by plan and by service, and some specialty testing may not be covered. Call our office at 802-881-0424 and we’ll help you confirm what your plan covers before your first visit.
