Position Summary

The Bendavid Clinic is seeking a Primary Care Provider with a foundation in primary care medicine and evidence-informed integrative practices.

The ideal candidate is comfortable functioning as a primary care provider — managing acute and chronic conditions, providing preventive and longitudinal care, and recognizing when specialty, urgent, or emergency care is indicated.

The physician should also have an interest in complex chronic illness and a willingness to pursue additional training and continuing education in Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses, mold-related illness, and complex chronic conditions.

Primary Care Training & Clinical Responsibilities

We are specifically seeking a clinician with substantial clinical training in primary care, including pharmacology, laboratory medicine, diagnostic imaging, preventive care, and recognition of urgent and emergent conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive new-patient, follow-up, same-day, and acute-care evaluations.
  • Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice.
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging as appropriate.
  • Provide preventive care, health screenings, and longitudinal disease management.
  • Prescribe and manage medications authorized by Vermont licensure.
  • Develop evidence-informed treatment plans incorporating conventional care with naturopathic approaches.
  • Perform appropriate in-office procedures consistent with training and licensure.
  • Recognize red flags and appropriately refer or escalate care.
  • Coordinate care with specialists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.

Complex & Chronic Illness

Prior expertise in all specialty areas is not required. However, the successful candidate must demonstrate an interest in complex and chronic illness and a willingness to participate in continuing education, mentorship, and additional clinical training in areas such as:

  • Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses
  • Mold-related illness and environmental health
  • Complex chronic and multisystem illness
  • Optional IV therapy and injectables

Required Qualifications

  • Current Vermont naturopathic physician license or eligibility for Vermont licensure with additional pharmacology endorsement.
  • For NDs: Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND/NMD) degree from a CNME-accredited naturopathic medical school.
  • For NPs: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from a state or nationally accredited graduate nursing program, with national APRN certification.
  • Demonstrated competency in primary care, preventive medicine, laboratory interpretation, and pharmacology.
  • Strong understanding of conventional standards of care and the appropriate integration of naturopathic therapies.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and training in areas relevant to the clinic's patient population.
  • Excellent clinical documentation, communication, and care-coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a CNME-recognized or approved postgraduate naturopathic residency.
  • Outpatient primary care experience.
  • Experience or training in Lyme/tick-borne illness, mold-related illness, or environmental medicine.
  • Experience with injectable and/or infusion therapies.
  • Experience with insurance billing.

Compensation & Benefits

$130,000 and negotiable based on experience. This salary is based on a 5 day work week with a 10 patient cap per day. Days and hours are negotiable.

The Bendavid Clinic offers:
